InvisaShield™ chemically reacts with the silicate-based compounds in concrete,stucco, brick, tiles,mortar, and grouts. In wood, the product reacts chemically with the cellulose and lignin in the wood. The high alkalinity found in newer concretes acts as a catalyst to speed the completion of the reaction. However even in more neutral pH environments, InvisaShield™ will eventually fully react with the substrate.

Newer concrete will show the most dramatic beading results . Older and poorer quality concrete may take longer and in extreme cases may require a second application
